I live nearby, but just recently discovered this spot. I admit, I've only tried their breakfast, so I can't speak on anything else. Their mangu is some of the best I've had and I always say their coffee is made with love. It's a quaint little spot and the ladies are lovely. Definitely check it out if you're in (or from) the area. *One note, there is a 10$ minimum to pay with card (which isn't posted anywhere). This did cause a slight issue on one of my first visits, as someone who does not carry cash.
Ordered from the Yelp App twice for delivery. First time, delivered on schedule. I enjoyed the food, my companions didn't. Second order, delivered on time. I again enjoyed the food and this time so did the others. No complaints here. La Reina has been around a few years, and appears to be holding their own amongst the other neighborhood Latin restaurants within the area. Our orders have been tasty and seem to be freshly made. We haven't dined in, so uncertain if that's an option. Driving by, their inside seems tiny, though their outward appearance is rustic and inviting. It is important to note, food-wise we are not in The Heights where full on authenticity is prevalent. Having this Latin restaurant as an option in the area allows us the opportunity to order from here again.
I came in here because nothing was open. It was about 10am and I was STARVING. Cute lil place, and kind of hidden. I'm eating this as I write this review and I'm in love. I'm in heaven. I've never had mofongo like this before. I mean I'm fcking this mofongo up wow. You guys have NOT lived until you have eaten here.
Used La Reina to cater my 75th birthday celebration. Their pricing was reasonable, delivery was on time and the food was delicious. Pernil, black rice, yucca and frituras were a hit with all our guest. I would highly recommend La Reina for all your special occasions.
Small friendly neighborhood Restaurant, Dominican cuisines all tasty and worth the visit or delivery order. They serve a decent portion of food. I ordered a mangu with salami and egg and it was delicious.
Wonderful little hole in the wall type of place. The service and the taste of the food was 10 out of 10. The food was delicious and authentic Dominican food. I tried the stew ribs, stew oxtail and the rice with bean (moro) and these were all fantastic. Reminded me a lot of the food back on the homeland.
I'd give this place a solid 3.5. Unfortunately they ran out of empanadas when I came. I got myself a plate of beef stew with yellow rice. The flavor was the stew was really good although the meat was a tad tough. Overall this definitely satisfied my cravings and I would go back to try out their other items.
I ordered a steak sandwich with fresh lemonade, really tasty and delicious... My mom had the Oxtail special with rice and beans, the food and service was very good, love the fresh lemonade... I love places which have a good selection of fresh food and great customer service, I will be back! Thank you!
